Reduction of VPS price ?

Hello,

Just want to know why hostgator don't reduce the price of their servers.
i think you are with theplanet, their price is not so expensive like that so why?
i am sure that if they were a bit cheap , you will got more clients which run VPS instead of Shared.

ThePlanet don't include server management, HG do. Thats why HG are more expensive.

Not just server management, you get free WHMAP or WHMCS, free cPanel and WHM, free Domain Reseller Account.

The list goes on.

There are no additional costs for management, it is all inclusive.

So if you wanted to compare it...
The server - 109.00
cPanel / WHM - $25.00 /m
WHMCS or WHMAP (or both) - $15.95 / m or more
Domain reseller (around $100?)
Server management. - About $100 a month.

That isn't really a good accounting of the price. The actual price would be $144 a month with the options that HG gives you, compared to $174. So, management costs $30.00 a month. I wouldn't say thats a huge difference.

Well of course there is a difference in the price of something and the value of something.

So however you spell it you are getting a good deal.

Nope, however in this case I think it is safe to assume they mean dedicated.

Also don't forget the $25 setup fee at the Planet. Not sure what the port speed is on the Basic from HG, but the server we use has 100 Mbps which would also be $10 a month.

Hostgator has a million accounts. You have one. Guess who doesn't pay list price for their servers.

Are you saying that because HG resells dedicated servers instead of running a data center that they can't compete with a datacenter owner? Hmmm... That isn't what you said when you started this thread.

Actually it is still a good deal. Normally hosts charge in the range of $75 per hr. for a technician working on server management(any extra work for an unmanaged server) and here what you spend a month is less than an hrs. charge!
