Default Redirect to subfolder

Hi,

i created a subdomain "www.shop.domain.tld". The system made a subfolder "public_html/shop".
Now i need several othe subdomains that point to that folder "public_html/shop", but in cpanel i can only redirect to domains (e.g. www.shop.domain.tld). How can i point the subdomains directly to that folder.

I have a Baby Croc Hosting package.

Greetings from Bavaria, Germany
Tom

you can create the sub domain, then redirect them on the same page!

you can also redirect shop1.domain.tld (and others) to shop.domain.tld by putting a redirect page in domain.tld/shop1 that will forward the visitors to shop.domain.tld or domain.tld/shop !

there is a multishop-system installed on shop.domain.tld. I need the subdomains to activate the right subshop. So i have to redirect the subdomains directly to the folder, not to the domain. I hope you understand what i meen. Sorry, my english is not so good.

Thanks,
Tom

Hi,

sorry, but it doesn't work.

I set up a subdomain (ch-shop.domain.tld) and made a redirect to "public_html/shop" (this is the folder with the multistore). But the System sent me to "http://ch-shop.domain.tld/home/sysadmin/public_html/ch-shop/public_html/shop"

What's wrong here??

Thank you,
Tom

Why did you need to use a redirect. A subdomain would have pointed to http://subdomain.yourdomain.com/

Anything in the config files looking for a direct path would be /home/username/public_html/subdomain_folder/

I created a subdomain shop.domain.tld, the system created a folder public_html/shop. In this folder i installed a multi-shop system. In this multi-shop system i can set up serveral subshops which all get their data out of one databese. In the shop-config i must name a subdomain for each of the subshops. To view a special shop from the multi-shop system, you must point a subdomain e.g. shop1.domain.tld to the folder public_html/shop, to view shop2 you must point a subdomain shop2.domain.tld to the folder public_html/shop and so on. So all subdomains must point to the same folder (public_html/shop) and the shop-system shows the subshop with wich the subdomain is configured.

I hope you can folllow me?

Tom

If you're trying to get a subdomain to have its root directory in a folder (and not just redirect), you'll need to email support and tell them to switch you over to the X3 theme.

The X3 theme will then let you create a subdomain and define it's root folder.
