really noob question

I have a one page html doc to put on a subdomain what is the easiest way to get this up and running. I uploaded the file but all that shows is the directory. I am sure I need an index file but I dont know how to generate it. thanks . new guy...

Make sure that the page is named index.htm or index.html so that it will load by default. Also, linux is case sensitive so it should be all lower case.
