This is my experience in the first week itself.
Day 1 . I sign up everything works fine. Day 2. Account suspended, they ask me to call for verification. I wait for the operator for 30 mins who says he has no idea why i was flagged for verification. Says i would be up back in 20 mins. 2 hrs later: I am still not up. 4 hrs later: Another first payment is billed into my credit card. Day 3. I talk to these guys online about what is going on. They say that the first payment would be nulled and refunded. Day4. First payment not nulled, but acccount is up. Today: I have been billed my first payment for the third time. My conclusion: These guys have issues, DO NOT TRUST YOUR CREDIT CARD DETAILS WITH THEM and I still have not got my money back which was credited wrongfully. My two cents : Look elsewhere. |

okay, well it takes about a week for a credit card charge to ACTUALLY post. Your bank probably shows that the money is being held so they subtract it from your balance. thats the banks problem, not hostgator. only 1 of the transations actually clears and the rest are dropped. Also, I would rather have a host that checks for fraud and verifies suspected people rather than having one that does nothing. And since you aren't happy with their service, I HIGHLY suggest you use this form. https://secure.hostgator.com/cancel.php

OK, finally everything got settled and I got my refunds which were needed.
But the point you are missing is that using a customer's card details without approval is nowhere professional. (And just before someone says I signed up for automatic billing to my card - I did not). |
