My current host have some serious trouble with their server, which lost every customer's files and data. I want to ask is if the files and database data are store on the same server? If so, if something seriously happen how can you rescue the data and prevent the same thing from happening?
I'm currently running phpBB, do you know any medium sized phpBB forum (average online user 10~50) that is also using hostgator? I would like to see how's server performance with that amount of user online at the same time. I am think of using the cheapest plan (Baby) because it has the amount of bandwidth I need. However, with this plan will I be place in a already crowded server? Would you gurantee a smooth performance and not placing too many users on the same server? Do you have any customers from Asia? because most users on my forum will be from that region, I hope there isn't too much laggin. Thanks ~Mac |

Any forum that has over 25 users online needs semi or dedicated hosting solution in almost 100% of cases. We won't be able to host you in a shared hosting environment.
