Default rDNS

I'm currently hosted by another provider. In over 20 days I have not had a fix for a reverse DNS problem. When I try to send mails to AOL customers they dont receive them since AOL can not do the rDNS on my domain? Would this be a problem should I start my service with your hosting?

I have no problems sending to AOL when my server is not blacklisted. AOL blacklists server constantly, so that would be a problem for you as well.

does your ip address pass the rDNS check? I'm sure it does since you can send to those addresses. Mine just comes up with failure everytime I run the check.

plug your ip address into this page to test it:

so far every resource I've seen states that my ISP providing the hosting needs to add an entry for rDNS. It really shouldn't take almost a month to do this.

I am pretty sure that every single IP in HG has reverse DNS, and if there is not I am very sure they will add it immediatelly.

If your current hosting provider doesn't want to do it or doesn't know how to do it then you, for my opinion, has the wrong provider

Yeah that is what I'm thinking at this point. I've had it so I'll probably switch here in a while.

So the support is pretty good here at Host Gator? I shouldnt need much help but when there is a problem I want to be able to get a response within a reasonable timeframe.

All of my IPs rDNS just fine.

The response time from HG is very good. Support is far from perfect, but they do respond quickly. I normally just email support and get an email back (not the automated on) in less than 15 minutes.

True story, I need an SSL certificate installed on a domain and I emailed support at 11:30pm on a Saturday night. Fifteen minutes later I had an SSL installed! I'm sure that isn't typical, but it was cool when it happened.

Some fairly difficult questions take a few hours to resolve, but mostly they are very fast.
