Default Quick question: add-on domains

Hi guys!

I actually just set up my shared hosting account, but I can't get into the private forums yet... and was hoping someone could help me with a real quick question.

I'm setting up an add-on domain. Once I copy over the files, I *think* I need to go to the company that registered it, and change the nameservers from the old hosting company to hostgator...

I also *think* that I should use the same nameservers that I received via email for my *primary domain* - since the add-on is linked with that.

Just wanted to verify that I'm thinking correctly, and didn't miss anything - the support videos have been very helpful, but I didn't see anything about changing the nameservers...

Thanks

(PS: In my application for a forum account, I didn't list my primary domain, b/c it wasn't clear if it would be visible when I posted... is that needed to get my forum account activated and is it visible to other users? Thanks.)

Thanks for your patience and help!

Yes you need to change the nameservers.

I am not sure on the forum account question. Shoot an email to support@hostgator.com

Yep, you're on the right track... nameservers should be the same.

Your primary domain will likely be needed... add it in the User CP I think... it's only visible to HG staff....

Your forums account is now fully activated and this thread moved to shared hosting support

Yes, you will have to goto the company that originally registered the domain name and change the name servers. You will use the name servers provided in your welcome email for both primary and add-on domains.
