Default Questions about reseller account

- How long have you been in business?
- What are the specs for your reseller servers?
- Is my account easily upgradeable? Is there an upgrade fee?
- If we move to a dedicated server is the transition easy?
- How many people are on your support staff?
- Do you have a money back guarantee?
- Do you have an uptime guarantee and if so is it server uptime or network uptime?
- Do you perform regular backups or am I responsible for my own backups?
- Are there any scripts that you don't allow to run on shared plans?
- Is whm autopilot installed or do I have to do it myself? And is there a charge for the install?

I carnt answer all of thease but i will try to help you out....

- How long have you been in business?
Host gator was founded in 2002, when in 2002 im not sure, but it was 2002.

- What are the specs for your reseller servers?
I think it depends which server you are on, but if i remember correctly, there all dual xenons, with plenty of ram and diskspace

- Is my account easily upgradeable? Is there an upgrade fee?
When i upgraded there wasnt a fee, just the extra monthly fee that it would of cost if you started with that plan.

- If we move to a dedicated server is the transition easy?
It was pretty easy when i did they, had to bug hostgator a couple of times as they got a little confused. But from ordering to been fully on a dedicated server took 4 days, and i bearly had to do anything.

- How many people are on your support staff?
Sorry, carnt help with thatone, but i have hostgator in msn, and there always online

- Do you have a money back guarantee?

i think there garentee is 99.9%, but not sure exactly how it works

They do backups, unless your dedicated then its upto you i belive (i do my own anyway)

Hmm, i dont know for certain, but i do know they asked me to remove an autosurf script that was apparently using too much resources up.

You have to install it, i think you can get them to do it, the charge i dont know, but its a piece of cake

There is a 30 day money back guarantee except on dedicated or colocation. I have been very satisfied and am sure you won't be dissapointed.

- Do you have an uptime guarantee and if so is it server uptime or network uptime?
There is a 99.9% uptime guarantee. The guarantee includes both network and server failures. If they fail to deliver on that guarantee, you get the enitre month refunded (but only if you ask)

- Do you perform regular backups or am I responsible for my own backups?
Backups are weekly.

- Are there any scripts that you don't allow to run on shared plans?
Anything that would use too many resouces would not be allowed for obvious reasons. See List Below:

a) Use 25% or more of system resources for longer then 90 seconds. There are numerous activities that could cause such problems; these include: CGI scripts, FTP, PHP, HTTP, etc.
b) Run any type of interactive real-time chat applications that require server resources. Remotely-hosted services are fully allowed.

c) Run stand-alone, unattended server-side processes at any point in time on the server. This includes any and all daemons, such as IRCD.

d) Run any software that interfaces with an IRC (Internet Relay Chat) network.

e) Run any gaming servers such as counter-strike, half-life, battlefield1492, etc

- Is whm autopilot installed or do I have to do it myself? And is there a charge for the install?

25.00 for hostgator to install.

- How many people are on your support staff?
I don't know the answer to this one either, but it has certainly been enough for me. Responses are very quick, especially with email support. Additionally, you have this great community of people always willing to help.

Crazyfish, is just like to add
- the specs of the servers are dual 2.4 Xeon processors with 2GB RAM
- offline backups are indeed weekly, but we also have mirroring on all our servers so in case of a disk crash we don't have to restore everything from backup.
