Hi.
Now I have a MyBB message board on a free hosting. I was looking for a real host service, and I have read very good reviews about HostGator. My forum has up to 3k pageviews and about 100 visits per day. Bandwidth usage is ~800MB. Any problem with Hatchling package? If I finally purchase hosting here, I'm sure I will upgrade package when needed, so I think there's no problem with these limits, but I want to know... For example, I purchase today a yearly subscription to Hatchling package, and six months lather, I want to upgrade to Swamp (or to dedicated or whatelse) due to account suspension warning. What would I do then? Will I be able to upgrade directly? Or before that occurs, the yearly subscription has to end? About payments, I think I will pay using Paypal. How do I pay with Paypal? Have I to sent you the money manually? I'm from Spain, so I use Euro. Any problem with that? About emails, no problem. 500 is much more than enought for me and I don't use mailing lists. Finally, my forum contained (now it doesn't) videogame ROMS for download. I mean ROMs with at least 10 years and not available now to be bought (in Spain it's abandonware, and then legal). What about them? No problem if not allowed, but Iit would be nice to have some downloads on my board. Ah, any size limit on files sent to server vía PHP? Thanks a lot. See you. |

I forgot it.
I have read something about no SMTP mailer. Maybe I haven't understood it at all, but does it mean that I cannot use Thunderbird to read my email at my domain name? Or that was about to send mails via SMTP instead of PHP sendmail? |

The Hatchling package will work fine for your message board.
You can upgrade at any time and if you made an annual payment, we will pro-rate the difference. We do accept Paypal payments, but the funding source is all handled on Paypal's end. We do not allow ROMs to be hosted on our servers. PHP file limit size is 10 megs. I'm not sure where you read we don't allow SMTP, but we do. If you have any further questions, please let us know.

One more thing; can I use phpmyadmin to manage my databases?
Thanks. |

Yes, you can find the link to that in cPanel.
And the 10MB filesize limit can be gotten around with a customized php.ini file, but beware you don't go over CPU consumption limits while testing this out.

Look for the database section, click on that, there will be a link called phpmyadmin or something of the like... just poke around a bit, you'll find it.
To customize your php.ini, you don't do that in cPanel. You just put a php.ini file in your folder you want to customize or you can make one and have HG symlink it to all your directories.
