Default Question about Signup/Domain Names

I was wondering how the packages with "unlimited domains" worked. When you signup for one of these packages, I see that you create a domain name and pay for it. Do you need to pay for additional domains within one HostGator account?

Hi,

The way it works is that you order the plan with a primary domain name. Usually the main domain name you will use on your account.

The when you want to add more domain to the account, you need to purchase/pay them from a domain provider or directly from hostgator.

Hostgator does not pay for domain you will add to your account. Each domain must be purchase from you and not Hostgator.

If it was Hostgator paying for all domains, I would be on one of those plans!

But still you can add unlimited domains to your account. Don't forget that all domains will be control by one cPanel account.

Best Regards,

Okay. I signed up for a new domain name, but I would also like to use the one I already have. I can transfer this to HostGator as a second domain name once I unlock it from my other host?

You can leave your domain name at your other host and just change the DNS on the domain name to point to your hostgator hosting account.
