Default Question about secondary hosting

Hi guys,

I've been with my current host for 3+ years and they've done a great job. I'm not looking to replce them as my primary host.

But, they are moving their entire operation from The Planet in Dallas, Tx over to One Wilshire in southern California.

Since I'm not too confident in this part of the country's ability to stay out of earthquake trouble, I'm thinking about setting up a second nameserver (I'll handle all that with my registrar) and have my websites on secondary hosting so all my sites can have an additional 2 nameservers to resolve to if the primary nameservers are ever un-available.

Is this OK with you guys if I purchase the Baby package and use it as secondary hosting?

I've only got about 40 sites that used a combined total of 3.76 Gigs of transfer last month, so I'm not a big user of space and bandwidth.

I did back on 12-05, but Sales has never replied.
Should I wait on them, or look elsewhere?

I just want to make sure that using my account for secondary hosting is OK with HostGator...if I decide to sign-up for an account here.

It's hard to believe that they didn't reply at all

Maybe you should check your e-mail "junk mail" folder.

No, they sent an email telling me I could not register on this board because I was not a customer yet...but I could still post messages. I've got this domain marked as good. I preview all incomin mail with MailWasher before downloading anything, so I know exactly what's coming in.

So, what's the purpose of having a pre-sales section of the board if sales isn't going to get on here and answer some of the pre-sales questions?

Wouldn't it be logical to think that maybe sales could visit the pre-sales board occasionally and answer questions?

Seems reasonable enough to me....but, I could be wrong.

You are right, there really isn't real purpose of having this board. If you don't get your answers by reading the FAQs and searching these forums you can always send an email to sales@hostgator.com and ask.

And yes, it'd be logical to think that sales could visit this board occasionally and answer questions.

But isn't it also logical to think that if you don't get an answer to your question you could just ask again?
