Default Question by a newbie regarding reseller hosting

Hi everyone,

I'm a real newbie to hosting but the more I read what hostgator can offer, the more convinced I'm becoming that it might be what I'm looking for.

I want to start a web design and development firm in a foreign country. I wanted to know what exactly HG's reseller hosting can do for me and my business.

Web hosting and domain hosting

I understand once someone approaches requesting hosting I can just set it up via the administration backend right. Then I give them the details to access it and configure their own domain name servers, etc right?
The other question here I want to ask is, when someone registers a domain it requires hosting, will this be provided by my HG reseller hosting package?
Does this practically mean that any domain on this earth can be linked to a hosting account on my reseller hosting?
My knowledge of dns, mx records and such is limited..how easy is it to do?

Google mail

Since I wanted to offer free email with each web design package, does this mean I manually set up email accounts for each domain with Google Apps?

Thanks.

HG's reseller hosting provides you with an allotment of disk space, bandwidth and a control panel. Whilst hosting here, HG also gives resellers a free license to use WHMCS if you wish. See whmcs.com for information on what it can do for you. It's very much worth using.

I have numbered your questions to make it easier to answer.

1. Yes manually, or use WHMCS to automate.
2. Yes manually, or use WHMCS to automate.
3. Yes, if you set it up manually, or use WHMCS to automate.
4. Yes
5. Very easy. You only need to tell your customer which name server to use. When you set up their account, the DNS zone will be automatically created.
6. If you want to use Google Apps for email, you need to change the domains MX records using the information supplied by Google. Once that has been done, you manage all email settings from within Google Apps, not HG.
