Question about Joomla

I have asked a few things in the off topic area but felt that I may get some more traffic here. So here goes, I will make it short and sweet.

I recently changed over to Joomla and am still learning a lot. My site can be seen at http://www.journeyoftheanimals.com

Does anyone know of a good component to go with Joomla for voting and commenting on pictures? Sort of like hotornot.com. I am using it for funny and odd animal pictures. I am currently using zoom media gallery. Also if there is anyone else here that uses zoom I would love to ask you some more questions.


Does anyone know of a program for voting and commenting on videos (similar to youtube) to go on Joomla. I would of course be using that for funny and odd animal pictures.

I know some people will be thinking "go to Google and do a search for components you lazy *fill in the blank here*"

Yes I know about searching and I have been. But it is nice to try to here from someone that might have used one or is currently using a component like this because then I can get some advice from them.

I also know that my site needs work and I am working on setting up a new template. Oh...that s another thing that I almost forgot. How can I work with and be able to see a template on my site without making it public?

If your looking for component, etc. I would start here and read the user feed back for the ones your interested in.

As for viewing the templates if your using Joomla 1.0.15 just turn on the template switcher in "module" and set it to "Special", login to the public area of you site using your admin login info and only Admins and Super Admins will see the template switcher.

If your using Joomla 1.5 there is no native template switcher you will need to find and download one from the above link and install.

The site can be a little slow but I find it worth it.
