I like test the prestashop (www.prestashop.com) ecommerce solution. (hosting shared)

System Requirements:

* Linux, Unix, or Windows
* Apache Web server
* PHP 5.0 or later
* MySQL 5.0 or later.

Host gator support this requiements.

Yes, but you will have to request to be moved to a MySQL5 server once you sign up
