Question Query regarding coupon sign-up & a lot more...

Hello everyone. I am a newbie in the field of web hosting. So please bear with me coz you might find some of the questions to be very stupid.

My queries:
1. I read an advertisement about sign-up coupons. Is it true that I get hosting space of 10GB for $0.01?
2. If the answer to the above question is YES, then my question is, how long will I be charged as per the same rate? Is it just for a month, a year or lifetime?
3. Is the safe mode and RG_EMULATIONS set to off for a shared web hosting package?
4. Are there any restrictions on file type and/or file size?
5. Will I be able to install and run Joomla 1.5 beta 2 given the constraints on CPU usage? I wont be having many users on my site, but I am asking this question coz I have tried free web-hosting and sometimes received FATAL errors related to memory allocation (even when there were no users and I was trying toinstall some plugins for my Joomla installation).
6. Last but not the least, if possible may I get to see an example of any web-site using Joomla & hosted on HG's shared hosting.
Sorry if I have repeated any of the questions that have already been answered in some other thread.

I am waiting eagerly for some replies.

1. You get 100,000 MB (100 GB) of space and 1,000,000 MB (1 TB or 1,000 GB) of Bandwidth (Baby Croc Plan - shared hosting) for a penny (hgc25 is the code, along with many others can work as well.)
2. I believe you are charged monthly, not sure if the coupon works just for signup, but I believe you will be charged $9.95 next month (I am a new customer, just came yesterday, so I wouldn't be 100% sure)
3. You mean safe_mode and in PHP? (I don't know what RG_EMULATIONS is, so you'll have to wait for someone else to answer)
In PHP, as phpinfo() states for php 4.4.4 safe mode is off (safe_mode Off Off )
4. I don't believe so. Should wait for someone else to come along
5. Don't know, but I can try for you.
6. Had a client sided issue, unless the server load was up when I was installing. But Joomla 1.5 Beta 2 works fine on the server

use hostgator coupon HGC25 and signup baby plan $9.95 per month.
the coupon will give you $9.94... so if you signup and paid monthly, this makes you first month only $0.01

There is nothing wrong with Joomla installations made by Fantastico.

Come on, you know that's not true. There's a lot of reasons not to use fantastico.

Fair point. Sadly, at this stage though, I don't think I have access to the non-public forums, where I suspect such answers are to be found. But perhaps that is all about to change!

The scripts are out of date, buggy and insecure. There's just 3 reasons pretty good reasons why not to use fantastico.

The program coding usually gets modified or added to allowing the program to work with Fantastico and be installed that way... this sometimes results in unforeseen bugs or errors

I realised scripts often out of date with F, but didn't know about possible mods - had no probs so far with several installations hosted elsewhere, but will bear in mind: thx for the info.
