I have been with HG for about 2 years now and they have been probably the best host I have ever dealt with. The service is great and easy to learn and manage. Support is fast...
However, I am starting to wonder about you guys lately. I don't know if you are starting to hire elementary students as part time employees but that is the impression I am getting these days... like the system is being run by a bunch of children while the grown-ups are all out bowling. On December 23, 2006, I fill out the cancellation form to cancel one of my multiple accounts. About 10 seconds later my main account (my living earner) is down and not working along with my addon domains. I call support and get a "this account was cancelled by you." So basically support just deleted the first account they came across without actually reading the submitted cancellation form. My account was restored but I had just done hours upon hours of work the day before that was all wiped out because it didn't catch the latest backup... so instead of going to a Xmas party with friends and family I had to sit here in my office and work Xmas Eve and Xmas Day fixing all this B.S... HostGator ruined my Xmas because they can't take 5 seconds to read a submitted form. Today I have not been receiving my email all day and I email support from another hosting company's account (so I can get the reply from HG). I get this reply: "theothercompany.com is not a HG IP... is it your main domain with us? If this is the primary domain, we will need the IP of the server." Am I the only one here that this does not make sense to? I am totally confused about that one! HostGator please put the Xbox's and PlayStation's controllers down while you are working... they aren't going anywhere!!! They'll be there later, I promise!!! The email problem is still an open ticket... Can't wait to see the next reply!

What is the ticket number for the email issue so that we can look into this?

Has Richard Foshee fixed your issue? I see that you have been working with him on it.

I looked at the ticket you provided and someone on your end definitely added that filter there which caused your email not to work. I'm sure this had nothing to do with us.
Your wrong account being cancelled has me worried though. I would like to investigate this issue. What is the ticket number on the cancellation? And what account was cancelled?

Well I am the only one that goes into my account and I know for sure I did not add a filter to block my own emails. Why would I? Must have been those darn Gremlins again!
I don't remember the ticket number on the cancellation and I won't go into details on the account that was cancelled in a public forum. I would just make sure that your employees are actually READING the cancellation forms that are being submitted. My guess is that they just looked at the email address that was tied to multiple accounts and then just clicked the delete button on the first account they found. Quote:

I see that Tim Waibel did make a mistake and deleted the wrong account. I'm not happy about this at all and will be dealing with him tomorrow regarding it since there is no excuse for this as you clearly said which account.
As far as the filter being added that caused all your email not to work that would of been done by the same gremlins that logged into your cpanel went to email filters and added the current 14 filters that are there. =) I don't think you understood what richard said in the ticket. "2007-01-02 07:57:15 1H1k8e-0003Ho-6b => /dev/null F= R=central_filter T=**bypassed** S=0 You have a filter in place that is blocking all emails for that account." He wasn't saying you added that line as a filter. He was saying you added a bad filter whatever it was which caused that result on the server for your mail to go to null. I've added about a 100 filters to hostgator, and I also one time added a filter incorrectly and it caused the same result until I deleted the bad filter. I believe I had a weird character in it or a spacing. (don't quite remember) So basically it's a bug in cpanel if a filter is added incorrectly, and I'm positive this filter was done by someone that logged into your account on your side. Let me know if that clears it up for you.
