Question Purchasing Reseller and Then Transfering Old Accounts?

Hi

This is my first post and I am unsure how you can make a pre-sale question, becuase when you register you have to give your account details. Maybe you don't have to register to post here or maybe I am missing something?

Anyway on with my original question....

I am about to purhcase a reseller account from HG and wondered how easy it would be to transfer my old sites to new domains. Most have SQL databases and scripts running on them like my article site: www.a1-articles.co.uk - I would want to keep the current database because of the amount of articles on the site.

Another site has a blog on it and another script that autodelivers items, they obviously both use databases and so I suppose my final and overall question would be: How easy will it be to transfer all of these sites to a new account here at HG?

Thanks
Dan

Welcome to the forums Dan, we can indeed help you move your accounts over. All you need to do is fill out the form at http://hostgator.com/resellertransfer.php

Do this once your account with us has been set up.

Hi Ricardo

Thanks for the reply!

I am probably going to purchase your cheapest reseller plan, and my other accounts are on two different servers, will you still be able to transfer everything including databases? I can imagine I might have to setup email again but that is no problem seen as I use thunderbird to manage my email.

Thanks,
Dan

You shouldn't have to setup anything. A transfer will move all your stuff, including emails, but not SSL certificates.

Hmm that sounds good as long as it works well,

But....

Can someone give me a good reason why I should signup for reseller here rather than one at the link below, seems better value for money:

http://www.jaguarpc.com/services/res...mpare_bulk.php

Thanks
Dan

No.
Go there and you might find out why you should have stayed here

Well, quietFinn got here first, but that is exactly right. If I were you and I wanted to save a buck or two, I'd go there. I'm sure they are just as good as HG. (Except, I've never heard of them, so they can't be all that big).

I can say that for my $400.00 a month, HG is doing a good job and I'd be the first person to leave if I knew of a better hosting company, but I don't, so I'm staying.

I've heard of jaguarPC before. They're talked about a lot on WHT as a good VPS provider, but I haven't seen much talk in the way of their reseller packages. I agree with the two above that HG's been good to me thus far for my money.

Wow, plenty of loyal customers, I did use to have a VPS with JAG but I was working with a partner who I think may of cheated me the main thing I was worried about with HG was the fact that I dont think I get enough space? Anyway in the end I think the few who have replied to me here have pretty much backed HG up and forced me into using them
