I have a few domains on godaddy.com and some on another company in the UK.
When I change the nameservers on godaddy my site appears in a matter of minutes but when I change them on the other company they usually take around 7-8 hours. Strange... Can anyone shed a light to this??? I'm just curious...

there could be a lot of reasons.
1). how fast your ISP updates their DNS cache. 2). different domain extension have different updation timings. 3). registrars for certain TLD need to update DNS records manually. 4). you local computer might be showing you OLD results from temp. internet cache. |

I just remembered also...with godaddy you have to register private nameservers yourself but with the other company you don't...maybe that is what is slowing down the process...

Don't forget, just because it updates instantly for you doesn't mean it has for all the other ISPs. It's likely your ISP refreshes the GoDaddy cache faster than it does for others.
