Hello,
I'm trying to learn ins and outs of whmcs, seems like a great system. But there is one small problem, at the moment I'm testing out support ticket system and there is a problem with some characters (see picture attached char.jpg). There should be a "č" instead of � Bigger problem is the automated response email there are missing two characters (see picture attahced char2.jpg). In both cases there aren't problems with characters like ā č š etc in body of message. I would really want to sort this out since people in my country may use these characters The e-mail in question was sent by me for testing purposes, using ms Outlook 2010 |

Have you tried to change the System Charset?

I will second this ^
I've seen some people have similar issues, the reason for this is related to the Charset. This can be changed in WHMCS under: setup > general settings > localization > charset. I know that English language usually required: UTF-8. But looking at your screenshot you'd likely need to change it to something else. Jack

Hello,
thank you for replies. I tried a lot of things, but in the end adding "$mysql_charset="utf8"" to whmcs configuration file worked for me. |

Hello,
also remember copying and pasteing words or phrases into the text fields if whmcs will not traslate properly. also codes like ™ , © and the like will also cause the same errors. i found this out awhile back when doing my t.o.s. when you see that questionmark symbol it is usuallt trying to hypothoisize either a space or a bullut list item, those were the most common causes in my research. |

Changing the System Charset works on some cases depending on what type of problem you are trying to fix. That works for me most of the time though.
