Default problems with Midphase.com

Hi,
been with Midphase almost a year I think, i have 3 accounts with them. No problems up to now, but the past 3 days I cannot access 1-2 out of 3 of my sites. They come and go, with the usual error page can't find the server.

Most of these past three days there's been an inability for me to get my mail related to two of my sites, lasting most of the day then coming back to normal. Did the Tracert thing to check and they insist that their server is running fine and that it's my ISP!

I said, would my ISP having trouble mean that it targets randomly one or two of my own sites while I have no problems navigating anywhere else? Doesn't make sense. I said an ISP tries to connect to a server, if an ISP has problems you can't connect with any servers, you can't navigate, not just two out of three of my own and then switching which two it blanks out.

I asked to switch the servers they have my websites on, in the past they did it without problems, now they are reticent. I wonder why? I mean is this BS or what? And how can an e-business go without mail for any part of the day nevermind a couple of days. I think their servers are overloaded and this is what's causing the problems, but the threat to move to another host has not got me in touch with any kind of manager. I'm stuck talking to employees who in my opinion if he/she has to do too much work they wash their hands of it. Besides it's not their business they figure why sweat it to make a customer happy.

I was with Netfirms prior to them and they did this all the time, finally I couldn't take it anymore and went to Midphase... now I feel the customer service is lacking again...

Opinions please?
Thanks,
Sal

This could be issues with dns not resolving properly. Road Runner has been horrible about this in the past, and I could not get to some of our sites. However, it I checked at alertra.com or siteuptime.com just as an example the http would resolve just fine from 4 or 5 different locations. Just a possibility. When it's not working try checking the domain(s) at those sites and key in your domain and see if it resolves ok for them. If it does, you know you more than likely have an ISP issue with something (sloppy zone file updates, etc.) and if it comes back bad from those checks, you know it's not resolving for anyone.

This is not really a forum for opinions on hosts, I would reccommend a forum like webhostingtalk.com for this.

if you read carefully the opinion I asked was not on the host but if the situation I presented with is a likely scenario that an ISP could target 2 of my three pages alone when mulfunctioning or I'm being "bs'ed". Honestly if I wanted an opinion on Midphase I would have not come to the competition? ;-) And I think as far as that goes you can quite clearly read what my opinion already is about them. I'm forming one about Hostgater and you're definitely not selling it!

Problems is that a lot of you PC nerds are smart with tech issues but are poor listeners and have a poor attention span reading the mail of the rest of the people out there you feel superior to, (kind of like car mechanics) thereby you waste other people's time who don't make a living staring a PC screen all day (and who just want simple answers from thos who supposedly have them). At least this has been the case where I'm at with Midphase, I wanted to see if some answers could be had here, and if the treatment was different maybe I'd switch.... my mistake, thank you!

Isn't it just nice how you can come to a forum under the cover of "unregistered" and start blaming something and if the others don't agree wth you you start blaming and insulting them.

This is a forum for pre sales questions, not tech support and our techs are working on tickets from our users, if you have any pre sales questions please email sales@hostgator.com.

We're not going to give you an opinion on the matter, seeing as that's not what we're here for. I would like to say though, that this should not happen with HostGator. Also, believe it or not, not all of us are nerds. Anyone without the HostGator logo in their Avatar is actually just a customer. I am in fact a good listener aswell, we're just not supposed to give our opinion on other hosts. Would it be great for us to say "Hey, all other hosts suck, join us."? No. And to end that, we don't feel superior to anyone, it's just the job. Kinda like you're good at whatever you do and we have no idea how to do that probably.
