Problems Installing WHMCS on VPS Level 3

Hi,

I bought VPS to try out for a month before moving my reseller account, everything seems to work fine till I try installing WHMCS on my primary domain account. After putting in the db parameters I keep getting the error message

Could not connect to the database - check the database connection details you entered and go back and correct them if necessary

I have created the db and did ensure the correctness of the name but still same. Does any body have a similar issue or can help me out?

Did you:
Create the database?
Create a database user / password?
Add the database user to the database?

Don't forget that the database and database user are prepended with the cpanel username.

Yeah I did
1. created database WHMCS
2. Created a usere and assigned it to the db whmcs

I also appended the cpanel username as

Host :localhost
db name :aegisweb_WHMCS
user name :aegisweb_whmcs
Password : xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

What else could have gone wrong?

What is the permission on configuration.php?

I have set it to 777 after renaming it, and I checked that it contains the parameters entered on the Install page

Problem resolved, somehow I stupidly didnt assign the user to the db
