What is CMM? It's a mail manager you can access via WHM. I am going to use it to set specific send mail quotas per hour. Has anyone had success using it on these servers? My problem is that it is not making the changes. There was an issue with the newer version of cpanel but I believe that has been remedied. Maybe someone here will know the answer.
Here is the thread I posted on configserver's site. http://forum.configserver.com/viewto...p=13100#p13100 Thanks Pete |

As far as I can tell it is working for me. cPanel seems to have changed the way it handles the maxemail so that now it is stored in the file /var/cpanel/users/[domain_name]. When I change the value in CMM it changes the value in that file.

What CMM version are you running? I have 1.15. I cannot figure out why it doesn't work.

I'm running CMM 1.15 and cPanel 11.28 Release. What is not working? Did you check in the /var/cpanel/users/ folder and check the domain you are trying to change to see what is listed there?

The MAX_EMAIL_PER_HOUR=0 is set on my primary domain. I assume that is unlimited. The other users in the /var/cpanel/users/ do not have a max email entry. That I find weird. Does that mean that their limits follow the default 400 per hour I set in WHM?

Yes, the 0 means it is unlimited. I just checked a couple of other things on my server and noticed that the /scripts/update_email_limits script referred to in the cPanel forums was not on my server. There also was no file for the domain in /var/cpanel/maxemailsperdomain/ but there was an entry in the /var/cpanel/users/ file for the account.
I updated to cPanel 11.28.52 from 11.28.28 and the update_email_limits script is there now and I am seeing a file for the domain in /var/cpanel/maxemailperdomain folder. WHat versions are you running for cPanel. |

Someone from Configserver just confirmed that if there isn't an entry for max_emails_per_hour is not in the file it reverts to the default # I set which is 400.

I just checked in a VPS (cPanel/WHM 11.28.52 & CMM 1.15) and it seems to work as expected.

I am running ver. 11.28.52
Perhaps the auto upgrade for CMM from 1.14 to 1.15 did not do it properly. I will uninstall and reinstall it. pete |

I think I figured it out. I uninstalled it and re-installed cmm. The '0=unlimited' is not working. Any number I put in works, but when I put in 0 it goes back to default which on my server is set to 400.
Unlimited is not a necessity for me because I would have throttled my sending anyway. At least I now know that I can cut down my sending time by hours and it does work. Perhaps CMM does set it to 0 but reports it incorrectly due to some of the issues with their previous release. I'm going to post this on their boards. Thanks for your help guys Pete ALSO- if anyone is interested I also have a thread running at Configserver.com http://forum.configserver.com/viewto...p=13103#p13103 Last edited by pmatra; 12-21-2010 at 09:55 PM. |
