Default Problem with name registration

Hi ,

I'm not sure if this is the place to post, but I'm having problems assigning my nameservers to a certain domain name I just purchased for my client. I've always used used the nameservers: ns1.craniumlogic.com and ns2.craniumlogic.com. It works with .com,.net and .org domain names. However, when I try to register a .com.ph domain name, it says something like:

ERROR: NameServers Invalid. -ns1.craniumlogic.com (69.93.8.194) isn't authoritative for wts.com.ph * ns2.craniumlogic.com (69.93.8.195) isn't authoritative for wts.com.ph

Any idea what the error message means and how I can resolve this? Is this a Hosgator problem or should I talk to my name registrar? Any clues would really help. I've tried instant message support and he didn't understand what I meant.

Thanks in advance!

I'm afraid it's a HG problem. From what I see, HG server is denying access to that TLD. Maybe a support ticket will help!

If this is anything like my TLD you have to create the hosting for the domain before you transfer it over, then when u transfer to the new nameserver the TDL checks with yr nameserver to see if it is configured to receive the domain. At least thats how it worked for .pt if the domain is not configured (by creating hosting for it) the TLD refuses to hand it over to HG.

Weird in my case WHM even accepts non existent domains without any error messages.

Hi Guys!

Thanks for the suggestions - I'll try them all out and post what worked for me. I'll be submitting a ticket as well and post the resolution here for all to see.

Guess I can close this support request - I followed Amartin's suggestion first by creating the account first in WHM, then assigning the nameservers thru the registrar's control panel. Weird, but it's working finally! THanks for all the suggestions.
