Over the last two weeks load times have been consistently slow. Internetsupervision.com and host-tracker.com regularly report that average load times from around the globe are more than twenty seconds.
Basicstate.com reports that for the last week the uptime for my website has been below 94%, presumably because of the slow load times. Very often my website loads so slowly that it times-out and doesn't load at all. A dozen or more emails to support hasn't been able to resolve the issue. One support staffer says, "An internet backbone is probably down" (but this forum loads without a problem!), another says, "a user may have been abusing the server", and another says "it's working okay at the moment", but the problem, if anything, is getting worse. Here is my site's uptime for the last few days: 2008-04-20 90.11% 2008-04-19 87.91% 2008-04-18 90.00% Is anyone else experiencing the same thing? Last edited by kbs; 04-21-2008 at 09:16 AM. |

Currently, my site on this server cannot be loaded at all from anywhere in the world, according to internetsupervision.com

Yes, I've had a ticket running about this issue for a couple of weeks. The last I heard from the server admin was:
"This server was under a small but serious denial of service attack. I have mitigated the attack and your site is online and responding quite well." I'll keep my fingers crossed. UPDATE: sites are still failing to load on this server. And when they do load, it can take half a minute or more. Last edited by kbs; 04-22-2008 at 10:14 AM. Reason: Update status |

Contact Live Support so that they can check on it.

There is still a serious problem.
According to internetsupervision.com, sites from this server are not loading from any location in the world. |

Ping time is quite normal for me, but page only loads occasionally.
When it does, very slow. Internetsupervision shows site as very slow as well. Time for live support perhaps?

I am also on gator 408 (mysandpointe.com) and this server has been giving headaches the entire month I have been with hostgator. So far in my now very lengthy case all they keep telling me its a ddos. Since my website is for a housing community of over 800 houses I want to know if was a random hacker or someone in this housing community(i know ip addresses cant pin pointe a house but I can see if its in the range of common ip address in the neighborhood). If my site has been causing your slow site I am deeply sorry for that. I have been with hostgator for my own personal site for several years and never had trouble.

Why we are getting ddos it seems like everyday? I doubt switching host would fix it so I will just stick with it. I wish there was a way to get this bulls eye of my site.

I'm a HG newbie so I guess NS815/816 are my servers. Performance has been 'disappointing' since I migrated my sites from another host. On one hand programs upload and database response is faster, but most mornings the sites fail to load. So that outweighs all the pros of hostgator. The sites have been okay this week until today (4/25) afternoon when it was slow or dead.
I contacted support last week 3 times. The best excuse was 'well its a slow server'. Great. I'm glad I or my wife don't have paying customers yet. Its embarrassing enough in front of my testers. I have another 4 sites to move over. on server status httpd (1.3.41 (Unix)) failed is constantly showing red Last edited by BlueIguana; 04-25-2008 at 06:34 PM. Reason: added server status |

It so wired how my site that has been here since aug 2005 is fine, yet it seems like the new servers from april are having some really big problems. I may have to leave hostgator since the group that I am running the site for want it fixed like yesterday.

Can't believe support said that. But if so I'm sure Brent would want to know about it and kick some gator butt.
.....![]() Not sure if HG will do this for you, but have you thought about asking to be relocated to an alternate server? Are you on shared or reseller? If on shared reselling is a no no. http://www.hostgator.com/tos.shtml

To give you an example, in the ticket I currently have open I'll send several screen shots of the internetsupervision test page, and painstakingly explain that my site is not loading from all or most of the locations around the globe, and that it has been like this for most of the last week. I then receive a short response which says, "Your site is working fine. Check it again." But nothing has changed! For some reason the support staff are completely unaware when the sites from a server are inaccessible from the Internet, and rely on us to monitor these things, and prove to them that there is a problem. Anyway, as of this minute my site is running and responsive, so I'll keep my fingers crossed, and have a rest from my rant. |

Hostgator fully knows about my problems. I am reporting every slowness to them. I just got an email from Tom Sp about the latest outage and he said this

As soon as you notice that your site(s) are inaccessible you should let Live Chat know. If you have a ticket referencing this be sure to have the number handy.

In my experience, it can take 10 minutes or more to convince live chat that there is a problem. And when they concede that there's a problem, they tell you to simply write an email to support (or if you have an open ticket, to write on that ticket).
