Default Premium backup

Just a suggestion, I run some stuff via an unnamed British server company as well and they offer for 1GBP a month a premium backup service, had to use that the other day and it is brilliant, I was wondering if Hostgator is going to offer this service at some point, a lot of companies nowadays do and it would be great if Hostgator would do the same.

I can only guess how HostGator thinks about this issue, I don't know.

Sounds like you answered your own question, if so many companies are offering free backups, or discounted backups, show me the money? Throw in the mix that many companies don't even monitor what is on their servers, it does not sound like an issue anyone is going to loose any sleep over.

Only barbarians expect stuff for free? LOL.

Customer installs 3mb of code (size of three telephone books), does not make a backup, then they expects a professional reply to their inquiry, in a timely fashion, even though it is quicker to restore a backup?

Just pretend that backup button doesn't work? Remember, a plug in or a theme, is not computer code that should trigger a back up before you install it, but magical fairy dust.......?

JayKae,

This is something we are looking into. About 6 months ago we started migrating our existing backup system to a new more advanced platform. Right now our focus is on improving our internal free backup solution, then we will take the same platform and offer premium services on top of it for customers that need it.

Thank you for your answer mate, that answer will make me stay with Hostgator.

To the others, yes of course everything is backed up but I had a crash of something with another host and using the (paid for premium service ) it took me a grand total of 10 minutes to get everything back up and running again, it is all automated and painfree so I was just wondering what HG thought of it and it looks like they are looking into it and I for one am going to be quite happy to pay for it
