Pre-Signup Questions

Hi, I'd like to get a few answers to some questions I have about the basic (hatchling) hosting plan before deciding to sign up with Hostgator:

1) Is Anonymous FTP allowed?
2) Is there any restriction on uploads via PHP? (besides space/bandwidth, which shouldnt be a problem)
3) Can Addon domains be directed to a diffrent part of the site than your main domain? (for Baby hosting, if we should go with that)
4) If we sign up for the 2 or 3 year plan, and at some point service becomes unusable or otherwise lacking and we decide to leave Hostgator: do you do refunds and by what policy are they calculated?

Just noticed that #1 is answered on the hosting page, not sure how I missed that. Change it to, "is it possible to get that specific feature without upgrading all the way to the swap plan?"

1.) You can add anonymous ftp to any of the shared plans other than hatchling by purchasing a private IP here:

https://secure.hostgator.com/ip.php

And then submitting a support ticket requesting the ip be used with your primary domain.

2.) File upload limits via PHP script are 10MB on all of the shared and reseller plans, if you need more than this you would need to look into a dedicated server plan, we have unmanaged ones starting at $75

3.) Addon domains by default are set up to have their own directory within your primary domain's home directory. If you wish to have the document root changed in Apache for an addon domain, you would simply need to submit a support ticket and we would point it wherever you'd like.

4.) We have a 45 day money back guarantee, after that refunds would have to be requested via our sales team sales @ hostgator dot com on a case by case basis. (But we are the best in the business, so the point is moot:-) )
