Well I'm currently very unhappy with my host and I am looking for a new host for my forums. I'm looking at the shared hosting since my forums are small and free. I have 500 members but only about 100 active and probably only 10 to 15 online at any given time, every now and than we have shot up into the high 20's. I also have a small gallery and a shop software along with the normal site pages. I may add vbadvanced to the forums software.
I need to know if there is any issues or concerns I should have before moving here. Also I want to make sure i have the ability to backup and restore my own databases. My forum zipped up is 12 megs, close to 70 unzipped, the rest are smaller. Oh and I also have an archive forum that is old software used to simply keep offsite links working for now, no posting of any kind is allowed on this forum, later on it will be done away with. I'm sure my small forums will fit in but I thought I would check and I want to make sure I won't have to contact tech anytime I need to restore a database. thanks oh and my site is www.ripper7racing.com, but right now the forums are down, database restore problem. |

Hi,
You won't have to contact them to backup and restore. I export backups of my databases all the time using phpmyadmin, and have imported those backups many times. -Matt |

Almost 2,600 members here and do my own backups.... just in case.
I use latest DragonFly CVS for my CMS/Forums on my secondary site and run PHP-Nuke on the main site with 30 members. |
