Question pre-hosting (?) nuke evo X

Ok well i have a number of websites hosted with several FREE hosts and i would like to go to a premium host and have all my websites under the 1 domain just using subdomains for each of the indvidual sites.

HostGator appears to suit my needs with the basic shared hosting plans but i am woundering if the cms & features i plan to use on a few of my sites is going to work out.

"php nuke evolution extreme" with quite a few different fuctions activated such as live chat, shoutbox, forum, NukeSentinel ext. ext.

I realize nuke evoX with all these features built into it must create some kind of load & i am just woundering if hostgator will suit ???

if i can i will probbly have around 6 websites, only a couple will get moderat traffic & only a couple will have such complex cms's
all the others are just hobbist sites with next to no visitors.

is it possable to host all this on just a hatchling or baby plan ?

I really can't run the costs up any more than them 2 plan's, seeing i live in Australia and the us-aus $ conversion is somewhat scary.

Thank you so much for your time
and am looking forward to potentially been hosted by such a great host

Multiple CMSs in individual subdomains aren't a problem as such. I run several that way on my shared server account, although nuke evoX isn't one of them and my loads are quite low. Some CMS modules, on the other hand, could get you into the area of borderline load levels and acceptability on a shared server. (See Host Gator's Terms of Service.) I'd suggest contacting the Host Gator sales people directly for more authoritative advice.

thanks for the fast reply
and yeh i understand yeh, hopfully evoX doesnt have something that packs to much punch,
and yeh checked TOS and all over forums for as much info as i could gather before posting & couldn't find anything specificly that says it ain't going to work out for me so i think its looking good.
So now i am thinking of if HG doesnt suit me then well no other host is going to so i think i am just going to go ahead with it,
if i need better than there is dedicated or reseller & naturally i would need to get the funds flowing first.
so yeh i will start at the bottom make my way up

now i just gota work out payment methods ext ext

Talking Re: pre-hosting (?) nuke evo X

yep i certainly think so

ps. i done a test on 1 of my FREE hosts & installed nuke evoX under a subdomain while the root had nuke, with all addons and features turned on i checked cpanels server status and it said 4% cpu ussage 8% memory & after many re checks the cpu ussage varried from 1-4 %

that was done on a slow overloaded FREE hosts server so I think the results are positive,
Imn sure that HG been a good premium service would destroy thoses statistics ?

I will find out once i go through with it

Thank you Virtvir5 you have been very helpful & welcoming

It's difficult to know the relative significance of those percentages without details about your current server's hardware set-up (number of CPUs, etc.) but I'm confident you'll find HG servers quite robust. It's good that you're currently on a cPanel server. That will make the total transfer process as painless as it could possibly be.

I think you'll find all the denizens of this "gator swamp" very friendly. Welcome aboard, new "hatchling".

Smile Re: pre-hosting (?) nuke evo X

Imn not too sure myself on that hosts server config, think its a quad core but needless i know for certain there server is overloaded, my site with them for one is slow and non responsive every so manny times i check & there support forums says just that :-)

I run more tests on the other free host i have and it chewed everything up like it was nouthing :-) its a new duel core rig with 8 gig ram shared with quite a few people,
actually i loved that host only 1 problem i have with them is they have policy against any server hosted chat / shoutbox ext. ext.

I haven't seen anything on here against them exept no high server resource ussage "which is fine".
Going on what i have explored i think everything i wanna do will be 100% ok.

I just realized HG allowes you to pay per year in full am soooooo happy I am gunna put funds on my debit card ready tomorro & go ahead with getting "Hatchling"
I was gunna get babby but diddnt realize the price was more than i expected, after all the conversion rates ext. ext.

Thanks again & will see you around here as a happy customer

HG has restrictions on this too--better study the Terms of Service.

Unhappy Re: pre-hosting (?) nuke evo X

oh ok I haven't seen anything that specifically narrowed them out only irc scripts/bots & irc servers.
hopefully i will be able to find a way around it then if it single outs shoutboxes aswell, like iframe it of an other host or something "like them 3rd party chat widgets"

As I said above, your authoritative souce on any question of server usage acceptability would be the Host Gator people themselves. If in doubt, contact them directly. All other interpretation of their TOS is merely "non-binding" opinion.

Friendly hint: Since you're now past the "pre-sales" stage, perhaps it would be best to end this thread and move to the peer support forum for your class of service.

Mike, that's not the only TOS section that may apply--check out the part about resource usage and related activities.

As usual, Richard's suggestions are good.
