Default Potential new customer....

I'm looking for a new reseller host. My current host was terrific, but they sold out to a foreign company in the past 6 months. Now the support is broken english, slow, and the server performance is terrible. Actually, all 12 of my sites are currently offline and have been for 24 hours. The only response I could get from my tech support is "the server was brought down for a security check" - "it won't take long". Hotmail and MSN won't take their emails as they have been blacklisted. It's a mess. I also know OTHER servers they host are also offline.

My plan is to move the moment they get my sites back online. I've only had an evening to research hosts and I find myself here. So my question is , how is the uptime and server load? Have most of the mail issues been resolved that I've read about? (I'm a yahoo user myself.)

The reason I know other servers are offline at my current host, is basically because I've brought other customers with me. They are different servers and they are offline as well. They want new recommendations to move to as well.

BTW - I'm looking for a response on the server issues for the soul reason that when I went to register for the forum. The server went offline and I received several "server not found" messages.

Just curious how often this happens.

To answer your question from a personal, nothing to gain perspective.

I too have switched a number of my clients to HG from one of my previous hosts. The best move I made in a long time.....support is excellent, have had about 10 minutes downtime since I joined.

E-mail issues have been fixed!

mail issues to some degree are ongoing for all shared hosting. i will say that when i was on shared here, while we did get blacklisted a few times, hg support was prompt and responsive in addressing it. that's more that i was getting elsewhere.

i never had an issue with uptime concerns here, either. i'm on a dedi now so i can't speak for shared as i wasn't on it long, but i do know that hg is very good about communicating issues when they come up and taking responsibilty when it's due. the amount of direct, honest communication has consistently impressed me.

i hadn't noticed it before, for whatever that's worth. i do feel comfortable with hg's service and especially their support, and i do personally feel comfortable recommending hg to others, which i don't take lightly.

I just experienced problems with the forrum loading here too. This is a strange occurance from my experience and just shows that problems can pop up anywhere, anytime?

Thanks for the feedback so far. I'm still waiting on my sites to go back online. I finally got them to admit there were MORE issues and that new servers are going back online. My server is suppose to be last though.

One of my friends sites are back up. That's one out of three for him. Looks like it's alphabetical as they come up.

Hopefully I can get the transfer done before the w/e and get away from their mess.
