This is just a monthly reminder that I would like to see PostGres installed on at least the shared server I am on. There are applications that I used and would like to use again that require postgres or EDB While EDB is a pay for Postgres offshoot and is not in cpanel last time I check I do know that Postgres is in cpanel and is labled production server safe.

maybe for resellers but from what I seen on shared accounts it does not seem to be there.

I think you can ask for it to be installed on your server.

Christine that Postgres is not supported ( as in not going to be installed) on any reseller or shared server. |

I found that no one really knows what goes on over at HG when it comes to techincal support. I have a couple of other resellers state like your self via pm that they have postgres in there cpanel. Though HG tech support insist the only way to have it is to have a dedicated server.
I never seen just sillyness. I am not asking them to pay money for EDB, just install with a click of a button a well supported much more robust and secured Database server. That I either need Postgres or MySQL5 with is no where near production ready. At least Postgres 7 already supports the functions I need. I tried retooling my applications to use mysql 4.1 just the lack of functions keeps it from working right. I am very disappointed right now. |

I'd also like postgreSQL installed.
Thanks, Dallas (the still-loyal customer of HostGator) |
