I am very pleased with my experience at Host Gator. We hit a little bump at the beginning when no one I chatted with told me to do a transfer form, but someone figured it out and things moved forward.

Then I wondered why one of my sites populated almost immediately but the other did not. I asked chat support but was told to wait 24 hours, and that was a reasonable response. But later in the day a chat support tech noticed something and come to find out, it was a server error, easily fixed.

At the time, these things were minor irritants, but looking back, the whole experience was smoother and faster than the last time I moved webhosts. And the BIG plus to Host Gator is the availability of someone to answer questions. They may not get it right the first time, but with technology, how many people do? With my last web host, I had no one to ask questions.

I'm excited about the possibilities Host Gator provides. I've already downloaded a template and started re-designing one of my sites.
So overall, I'd rate Host Gator at a 9.5/10.
