pop server down on hummer?

Woke up this am and can't download my e-mail, none of the pop servers on any of my domains are responding. Anyone else experiencing this? I'm on the hummer machine.

When something like this happens you should 1st contact Live Support, usually they are able to check the server, and if needed to restart services. If they can't help you or the problem does not go away you should open a support ticket.

I checked the pop3 server in hummer and it seems to respond.

I tried contacting live support and they never answered...

Then I submitted a trouble ticket.

Ok, if the server responds why can't I download my e-mail? What has changed? I haven't changed my settings on this machine, and I also have pop access online and it wouldn't open, either. help me figure out what's going on here!

I can't figure out my login for the trouble ticket system so I sent the ticket not logged in, but had all the pertinent details.

Its almost 3:00 pm here and I still dont have email, I've talked to live support, they said to contact a system administrator by submitting a trouble ticket.

But since my email is down and I can't log in I really have no way of telling if anyone is working on this or not.

They said they were able to send and receive fine, great for them, but I can't! And its not just with Outlook Express. I also have email software installed on my server and it is not able to open e-mail either.

Thats why they tell you when you sign up NOT to use an email address that is @ the domain you are signing up with!

For the future (or even for now), sign up for a new helpdesk account using an email address that's NOT a hostgator email! If you want, open up a new one now, and just give your old ticket number if you have it. Otherwise just submit a new ticket.

That also helps if you get suspended. 99% of the idiots who get suspended and say, "Hostgator never sent me an email" actually have their email suspended with their site, so that can't get email at all!
