Default Plesk Questions

I am curious what the PrivateTemp folder is in C:\Program Files\Parallels\Plesk. It is taking up a fair amount of space (35+gb) and if it is required or can be limited if it is in fact some sort of temporary file folder.

Also, I noticed that my more busier sites are taking up a fair bit in their respective statistics folders. Some are over 10gb. How can I limit this as well and keep some stats available in awstats.

Curious about this as my backup files are growing quite large needless to say.

Thanks
Mark

Hello,

The private temp folder is for temporary files and can be cleared out if it is taking up too much space. This should be cleared out automatically but sometimes Plesk does not.

For the logs you can set limits in Plesk so that only so many days back are kept or limit the logs to a certain size. The log files are only needed when the stats are first calculated. However if they are removed then the stats could not be recalculated if needed at a later point.

You can also email us at windows@hostgator.com if you have more questions or would like us to take a look into these issues on your server.

Its a common problem faced by many webmasters using Plesk. Many-a-times users cannot figure that out easily but since you already know, you may clear that out. Before you do that, do take a notice of the suggestion given by Michael.

Plesk is expected to clear it on its own after a certain time, but it usually doesn't, we need to do that manually.
