Plesk 8.6 vs 10

I am running Plesk 8.6 on my dedicated windows servers (both Server 2003). I see Plesk 10 is now available. Two questions, are there any upgrade costs available through HostGator or do I deal directly with Parallels. And... I am happy with 8.6 is there any feature, stability, improvements, etc that would make it worthwhile.

Hello,

Currently we are not offering Plesk 10 licenses however you can upgrade to 9.5 from 8.6 if you wish. There are a lot of changes from 8.6 to 9 and to 10 which add more features to the control panel such as reseller accounts in 9 and subscriptions in 10.

The upgrade can cause issues on older systems so if you are not having any issues with 8.6 at this time we wouldn't recommend upgrading Plesk versions until you upgrade your server (to server 2008 / 2008R2) in the future.

I saw Plesk 10 looks very classic. Also many complaining in the Forums that Plesk 10 lacks lot of features and looks very Ugly !

So better don't upgrade to 10. Btw, you can upgrade to 9.5. I am running it on my Windows Dedi and its awesome !

It is best to get a newer one as we have changed the specs since the one I am seeing in your billing from 2009.

I normally recommend ordering the server about a week before the old one renews to allow enough time to transfer everything and cancel the old server before you are charged again for it.
