On my forums, phpbb3 created files are automatically put in the user - nobody group - nobody. Can anyone tell me how to fix this so they get put in the proper user, group?
See attached file to see what I mean.

I uploaded all my files from a backup of my shared account. I then imported the database. I have cleared the files in my parallels power panel and when phpbb3 recreates the files, there still in the same owner/group. I have did some research and it tells me that php is running in the nobody/nobody group.
Is this what I need to install? http://www.suphp.org/Home.html

I just did a test install on my VPS .
All files belong to that domain/user. Do this... pull your DB off the server, import it via phpmyadmin or ssh which ever your most familiar with. Then do a fresh upload of your phpBB3 software, include any mods, add ons etc. you were using before.. Run the install for phpbb3 and it should see the existing db and install from there. that should resolve it. you could do chown as well on the files. http://www.manpagez.com/man/8/chown/ Although I think that would be the last resort. |
