Unhappy phpBB login error

anyone else having login problems with phpBB 2.0.6 when used as a sub-domain?

I have a forum setup as forum.domain.com and the page loads fine but when I try to login to the forum I get an error page:

Page Cannot Be Displayed

Open the forum.domain.com home page, and then look for links to the information you want.

and the url shows: http://forum.domain.com/login.php?si...5096269dd34832 so now I remove the /login.php?sid=20a15e01abb30b9ede5096269dd34832 and load just the base url forum.domain.com and I am able to access the forum and I am loged in

When I log out from the forum I get the same error message

This is the verion of the forum:
Powered by phpBB 2.0.6 Đ 2001, 2002 phpBB Group

I have tried the same forum with the exact same database on a different host and it works just fine.

Can anyone help with this problem?

Smile Re: phpBB login error

I have found the problem and i have the solution for anyone else that might of had the same problem:

in the phpBB2 "General Configuration" section locate the 3rd field "Script Path" it will default to: /folder_name wich represents the folder were the phpBB2 was installed to, example: /public_html/folder_name

to correct the error message: "Page cannot be displayed" when members log in or log out, change the value of the "Script Path" to: / wich represents the root of the folder were the phpBB2 was installed to.

Hope this information helps everyone.

Wink Re: phpBB login error

Your post helped! Also if anyone is linking to the boards from another site make sure the domain name is set to the boards host domain.
