In reading the cpanel forums, there are quite a bit of people running php 5 with cpanel and many running both 4 and 5... Why can't this be possible with hostgator? PHP 5 has been out for quite some time and there are several apps available that can only run on PHP 5... I believe there is even rumor that php6 is in development. It would be a shame for hostgator to completely miss the php5 boat...

Hello every one,
We have been working hard to install both php 4 and php 5 on all servers. Full details on this can be found at http://forums.hostgator.com/showthre...highlight=php5 By defualt php 4 is installed on every server. To enable php 5 please refer to the link above. If php 5 is not installed on your server yet please be patient it will be soon. If you want to see what version is running on your server please open note pad and type the following: <?php phpinfo(); ?> Save it as info.php and upload it to your public_html directory and go to it form yourdomainname.com/info.php at the top is the version of php your are running. Please remember to remove this file when you are done. From, GatorJT |
