Default PHP recompile

Today Mar 11 2007 11:03:03 Hostgater recompiled the PHP on my shared hosting package on batmobile.websitewelcome.com. Since then most off my websites are down as features in the previous PHP version are not available anymore.

the --with-dom module is not compiles so I cannot work with XML.

I cannot understand that a recomile removes features that used to be in without informing the client. Do I have to move all my sites to new hosting company? Any ideas if this will be resolved?

Yes I am afraid you have to move all your sites to new hosting company.

I can't imagine that HG support would add a feature, which they apparently happened to miss in the previous build, and build again.
Even if you contact them and ask them to do it they probably will not do it... or what do you think?

Sorry to step in, I have the module on my server.
_______
'--enable-calendar' '--with-curl' '--with-dom' '--with-dom-xslt' '--with-dom-exslt' '--enable-exif' '--enable-ftp' '--with-gd'
_____
So does not seems to be a general HG rule.
Why do not open a ticket, can be a mistake, nobody is perfect (Except ...)

Well, that doesn't help rtenny. HG support never helps anyone or adds features they took away by accident. rtenny needs to find a new host.

I feel like you're being a little harsh. It seemed to be a sincere question - does he need to move to a new host? From your responses, I think the answer is definitely a big "no" (but it's reasonable that he could have thought they removed it on purpose).

Rtenny, you should definitely get in touch through the ticketing system to get this resolved. Let us know how it goes, if you don't mind.

When you have seen about 17296 posts where the customer tells that his 10$/month account is not working well and because of that he is losing 1000$/day, all his 10000 clients are calling him and complaining, his wife is leaving him, his kids are getting lousy numbers at school, his car gets stolen and even his dog bites him, and because of all that (and who could blame him!) he threatens to go elsewhere, you might feel tempted to write a bit sarcastic replies.

We do, hence the response he got here, however if one of us doesn't give a smart ass response the thread likely goes with no responses. Look for any recent thread regarding the upgrades. They all start with "We don't care what you think and that your losing $1billion per day, add your response to one of the other thousand threads on the topic"
