Hi,
I'm seriously considering moving my hosted domains to HostGator but have a couple of questions about PHP. 1. Can someone please provide me with HG output of phpinfo(); or give me a link to a phpinfo() script hosted on a HG server? Specifically PHP5 thanks. 2. I'm a little confused about the "Please note, PHP 5 will not work work using a temporary URL. PHP 5 is only accessible when using the domain name to access your account." as it relates to add-on domains. Is PHP5 available to all add-on and sub domains? Do all php scripts have to be located in the public_html folder or can they be located in the sub-directories for each add-on domain located under the public_html folder? What is a temporary URL? TIA for your time. Cheers, P |

You can use your PHP scripts for both your "main" domain and your add-ons. They can be placed anywhere in your account's directory structure. The limitation about the temporary url refers to the server's IP-based URL you receive with your welcome email that allows you to log into cPanel or see your content before your DNS propagates to HG. PHP scripts for add-ons won't work with the IP-based URL.

ask Live chat about your pdo requirement, they'll might have it on some servers if not all.

PDO requires the object-oriented capabilities of PHP 5, so PHP 5.0 or higher is a prerequisite. The PDO extension ships with binary versions of PHP 5.1 and 5.2 but I am not sure if it's enabled by default or if HG will have it turned on?
