I run a WordPress site where I have a widget that displays PHP code, and I use it to pull-in another PHP file that displays a random quote from a MySQL database. The code for this is fairly straight-forward and simple, and does not seem to throw errors on my local server - but apparently it does every time it runs on the actual site at HG. I'm a little miffed by the error and was hoping someone could explain it to me ...

Looks like you need to submit a ticket to Hostgator. I found a similar issue here: http://forums.hostgator.com/help-php...og-t66413.html

Thank you Doug! The link you provided above described the problem exactly, and the HG Support Team had it fixed in less than an hour.
For others with the odd PHP errors described above, this is a problem of old .ini files being left over after a PHP version upgrade. Make a Ticket request and point them to the link Doug provided to explain your problem: http://forums.hostgator.com/help-php...og-t66413.html HG Support can clean out these old files and stop it from throwing these errors (which will happen any time a PHP file is called!) Thanks again! Mark~ |
