Default pay monthly today, then pay annually after 1 mo.

I would like to sign up for a new account today.
With little cash on hand, I would like to sign up and pay monthly.
It is my preference to pay annually when I have the funds.

Can I start up today at the monthly cost and next billing cycle pay annually?

My current host will not offer an annual plan so I'm hit with $33 every month. Most months this is ok, other months it's bad timing if you know what I mean. I need to move to a host with an annual plan and the ability for a fully functioning WPMU install.

Hello,
Your best bet is to e-mail HostGator directly with that type of question.

Regards

If I may give some advice, save up the cash until you can get the annual plan. Hostgator offers plenty of 20% off your first invoice coupons. If your first invoice is for a month, you'll only save a dollar or two. But the savings are large if that first invoice is yearly.

Use the coupon hgc25 and get the first month free(or for $0.01 exactly). That is better than using 20% off coupon, for those who opt for monthly payment.

Signing up for monthly contract and moving on to yearly payment is not such a bad idea, even if it cost you slightly more. I guess HG wont have a problem with it. Confirm with online chat support and move ahead.

"Moving on" is my reasoning to pay monthly today.

If I had the dough and could swing the 24 month contract, using a 20% coupon I could save $66 on the "baby" plan.

With a monthly plan, I can get started migrating dozens of my sites today.

If I can't make $60 an insignificant loss in two years then I shouldn't be fooling around with so many web projects.

A follow up question, which I'll ask customer support is... if I sign up for monthly, assuming a $10/month plan - can I pay $50 thereby covering 5 months?

Yes, you can upgrade to annual later.
Yes, you may pay in advance.

Domains prices are found at http://www.hostgator.com/domains - ouch.
