Hi,
I need to know how to password protect my site. I have watched this video http://support.hostgator.com/article...rectories-icon, which is pretty straight forward. But I am not sure which file protect the entire site. I don't have my site uploaded yet and want to know how to protect it before uploading it. I know there are items which I need to correct or change before publishing it, and this would be a good time to learn how to make changes to my website. Instead of having a site that is perfectly ready to publish but not know how to make changes. I know these must sound like newbie questions but I want to try and direct my learning curve time. ![]() Rick |

Set a password protect onto the public_html directory. This will password your inter site.

Thank you, that is kind of what I thought but I wanted to make sure.

The only thing that you have to remember is that password protecting the public_html directory locks down your inter website ... You can not have people viewing just parts of it without the Username and Password you set.
But from what I gather this is what you are wanting anyway. Good luck. |
