Packages

Can anyone explain to me what exactly is a package and how do they work ?

I am new to Host Gator and overall webhosting.


Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Do you mean in terms of resellers?

A reseller creates packages to assign the accounts they create to-- for instance, once package may have 1gb disk space, and 10gb bandwidth. You can also assign other things with packages, like limit people to certain amounts of ftp accounts, databases, etc...

Just like you signed up for the aluminum package, you, as a reseller, must create packages as well for your customers. It also depends on how you use the reseller account. Are you hosting your own or will you be hosting other peoples sites as well?

What I mean by "it also depends" is just on how you would allocate space as well as giving fancy names to your packages or not.
