If doing an ip search shows me that there are 1000 to 1250 domains on a server is that not overselling? How much bandwidth can a server have from the planet 2,000 - 3,000?

domains do not mean accounts, you could have 999 domains on one cpanel account

It is important to note that the number of domains on a server is not relevant. The main factor is server load, and it is this number that is used to determine when a particular box is "full".
You could conceivably host 2,000 domains on a single serer with very little server load, or you could host as few as 2 domains on a server and have the load go through the roof. |

From what i read * cant remmember where * hostgator claims it DOES NOT oversell.
Personally it gives me peace of mind to know hostgator does not oversell unlike other leading hosting companies. |
