Hey everyone as of yesterday my outlook express stopped receiving emails from my vps. All my accounts are having the same problem. I spoke to hostgator chat but they are not helping me with issue. All other email providers like gmail work fine. My passwords are fine. I even removed outlook express reinstalled and created a new email account from one of my sites and Im still having the same problem. So thats how I know its only a problem with my vps on hostgator. My emails from other hosting companies work perfectly fine. Im also having the problem with thunderbird mail except their it says server went away. Any real help will be truly appreciated. I can access all my mails through the cpanel.
There was a problem logging onto your mail server. Your Password was rejected. Hello,
I'd definitely make a ticket regarding this issue so we can look into it further. Be sure to include your domain name, the account you're trying to access, and it's password, we will use this account for troubleshooting purposes. To be thorough, i'd include your IP address as well. You can get this information the following URL: http://hostgator.com/ip.shtml

You are not going to get a solution if you are not willing to submit a ticket. Chat is good for some things but for technical server issues it is best to submit a ticket so the techs can test more thoroughly. Assuming they will blame the ISP is not productive.

![]() Well I am not one the "them", and neither am I "everybody", so I say "it's a DNS issue".

Hello,
I took the liberty of making a change to your dovecot configuration. Can you let me know if this has fixed your issue? If not, please submit a ticket to support [at] hostgator.com

Thanks Gator but that didn't work either. I guess I'll have to take the chance and submit a ticket.

Then perhaps you shouldn't be posting in peer support.

Who is everybody? If you want help, try and provide reasonable facts to allow troubleshooting. Your post makes no sense at all.

Temporarily disable your Anti-virus program and attempt to receive mail with Outook. If it works, you know then where the problem is.

Is he your friend or something? His post was out of line and had nothing to do with the thread. Have a nice day.

It is polite to post the solution for future readers of this thread, if you don't mind.
