Hi,
I have a script that wants outbound access to another server running on port 8080. It says connection refused. Is this due to firewall issues on HostGator? Thanks |

EDIT: Tried with port 21 and made a connection. If you can change the port the other server is listening on to one that is allowed, that would fix it. If not, tell HG what you are trying to do and they may put in a firewall rule for you. Might be a problem if the IP is not static. Last edited by jimbug; 03-15-2008 at 01:30 AM. Hostgator can often open up firewall ports for you if you have a legitimate need for it. File a ticket and explain what you need it for.
