Opening new forum sections !!

Hello everyone !!

Wouldn't you think that it would be a good idea to open a section /sections catigorized by the type of hosting ..i.e ..shared : hatching , baby , swamp bla bla

resellers

and dedicated so that it becomes easier for everyone to get right to the point he's/she's searchin for ??

Well, the "Shared Hosting Support" section is for shared users, as they all should have the same features / options. The "Reseller Support" is for resellers and "Dedicated Support" for dedicated users.

That's how it's setup right now. If you're an HG customer and you don't have access to the other areas, you can file a ticket asking about it.

are you telling me that ..there are some sections that i can't even see their titles at least ??

what i can see now is

general announcements

network status

pre-sales questions

customrs reviews

AND suggestions

that's all

and yes ..i am a HG customer

Yes, there are sections for shared, reseller, and dedicated customers to ask support or advice from others, and some other areas.

Email wesley@hostgator.com to get access to these.

HG, maybe it would be a good idea to show guests that these sections exist, but just not give access to them.

What's strange is that Blue's 'status' is not 'awaiting activation'--sounds like somebody set something wrong in the forum admin settings.

Hmmm, I wonder if there are m/any people who've gone from "awaiting activation" to "hatchling crocs" with the same (non-) results.

Matt deserves a Croc for figuring out that you couldn't see the rest of the forum (it wasn't obvious at all because of the status showing for you).

I don't deserve a croc...it was ignorance of looking to his activation status and a random guess by me. If I had known (falsely) better that activation = seeing all the forums I wouldn't have said anything.

This may explain why so many choose the public forums when asking questions, even when showing they are activated

To be completely honest, I don't know for certain--I just assumed that "awaiting activation" meant only public forums; that "activation" meant being able to see the others; and that stati other than "awaiting activation" meant that activation had taken place.

So I think your guess still deserves a Croc, and I hope that GatorWesley has read this thread.
