I've sent this to support but have lost a lot of time fiddling with this problem so thought I'd post it here for hopefully quicker response.

Server: Jeep

I have installed a blog script on my domain - both in subdomains and in public_html. I've done this through Fantastico and standalone. I have installed this blog script many many times in the past with no problems whatsoever.

The problem is that cookies aren't holding so I can't post entries or doing any administering.

1. I've installed multiple times, deleted everything and installed again.

2. I've installed older versions and the newest version.

3. Thinking it may be the script (even though no problems elsewhere) I installed another blog script I've used many times with the same results.

4. I've cleared my cookies, cache, history, etc.

5. I've used an entirely different browser thinking it may be a problem with my PC.

6. I've gone through the cookie troubleshooting steps suggested by the developers (even though I've never had this problem with multiple installs elsewhere).

I'm at a loss. If it isn't the scripts, not my PC, not my browser could it be a server setting?

Thanks for any input.

Hi,

just the first thing that comes to mind: in the PHP config on the server one can set some session directives (like cookie_path, lifetime, etc.). You can check them with a phpinfo.php page. Verify in your blog documentation if any of these need to have a specific value. Although I think more people would have problems if cookies didn't work like they should on that server...
Did you check if you actually get a cookie set on your PC?

Bye,
Stef.

Is this by chance a php session cookie? I have a script that has worked for quite some time now just quit working. PHP session variables are randomly disappearing. This is driving me (and my customers) crazy, as I have gotten nowhere with troubleshooting.

Does your problem sound similar to this?
