It may have been said before, but I can't find it.
Could some one give me a quick run down on how to have streaming audio. Basically I have a small MP3 that I would like to have as streaming. Do I have to convert it or use something to have it stream? I have uploaded the file but it comes back as a download, or should I be putting it in a certain type of folder? Thanks for your help. |

I think what you need to do is create a text file with the extension .m3u
Name it similar to the file you want to stream, and then put the full path of the URL to the mp3 file with a return (paragraph break) after it. Like this (file = song.m3u) [code:1:91422a1094]http://www.mysite.com/stream/song.mp3 [/code:1:91422a1094]That is a line break, not unnecessary space. The song.m3u file is what you want to link people to, and it should start streaming the mp3. You can see an example at http://www.jonilaurence.com/discography.php. The songs that have "listen" next to them open a new window and stream 30-second clips. Make sense? Good luck! Now I have to figure out how to stream video. [/code]
