I'm looking for a new host. I found out my current hosting provider (startlogic.com) has my SMTP server set up to open relay. Consquently my domain has been sending out spam to everyone and their dog. This is a bad thing.
So my question for HostGator staff is: How does HostGator authenticate valid users for SMTP and reject invalid users? BTW, I've emailed several sales@<inserthostproviderhere>.com the same question with no response. Any idea why? Are there that many hosting providers out there just catering to spammers? Sincere question. Thanks. |

Wow, there are not many servers that are open relay anymore just for that reason. None of our servers are open relay of course.
Thanks, Ben |
